With winter being a thing of the past (at least in my mind) the idea of getting the *perfect* summer body is on most people’s minds. Or it’s at least a passing thought.
I’m upset. I thought I had a few more weeks left to get a summer body ? https://t.co/K7AhcHPTWS

So while the internet and various other sources are churning out article after article on how you can “Lose 10kg in two weeks” or “get that perfect summer body in 7 easy steps”, it’s actually ridiculously easy to achieve a summer body AND it only needs two things:
1. Be in summer
2. Have a body
And there you have it, the perfect guide to getting a summer body.
Now that that is out of the way, let’s talk about how unhealthy the myth of the quick fix is. When you Google “Summer body” over a million results pop up with quick and easy ways to get the perfect summer body. Now if you have an amazingly sculpted body – I congratulate you, and I’m definitely jealous – but I am willing to bet that you didn’t get it by following a quick fix diet fad and exercise plan. And that’s what makes me despise the summer body trend.
I got 10 days to get a 6 pack ? yay for making vacation plans when your summer body is nowhere to be seen ??

Trends like these perpetuate the myth that we can ignore our health and bodies for most of the year and just spend a few weeks basically killing ourselves and we’ll end up looking like models. But it doesn’t work like that, being healthy and fit is a lifestyle not a crash diet.
So how about this year we focus on being strong and healthy?
